Curbside Recycling Comes To Peoria
The City of Peoria provides a co-mingled curbside recycling program for Peoria residents. There is no need to separate or bag the recyclables. Please DO NOT bag your recyclables, but do bag and tie your trash.
Acceptable Items:
- Paper - newspaper, magazines, junk mail, phone books, soft cover books, office and writing paper.
- ( NEW!) Plastics (with the symbol #1 through #7) - water jugs, milk jugs, juice jugs, detergent bottles and water bottles, squeezable bottles, yogurt, sour cream and cottage cheese containers, fountain drink plastic cups, disposable clean plates, CD cases, rigid plastics.
- Cardboard - broken down boxes, cereal boxes, detergent boxes, and shoe boxes.
- Aluminum - soda cans, foil paper, pie plates (clean).
- Metal - steel can (vegetables, fruit, soup cans), metal clothes hangers.
- Glass - jars, beverage drinks.
- (NEW!) Wet Strength Material - frozen food boxes, soda carriers, detergent boxes
- (NEW!) Shredded Paper - must be tied in clear plastic bag
DO NOT RECYCLE in your cocoa brown recycling barrel - plastic bags, grass trimmings, toys, household trash, medical waste, packing material, glass windows or foam products.
